Dimout curtains: uses, fullness and care
Dimout curtains soften the light while still allowing some visibility outside. Denser than a sheer and lighter than a blackout curtain, they suit offices, meeting rooms, restaurants and reception areas, wherever glare on screens and tables needs to be reduced. A fullness of 1.8 to 2 times the track width works with a wave or pinch pleat heading; with an eyelet heading, 1.5 to 1.8 times. A dimout curtain is usually hung without a lining, to keep its translucency; a light lining is possible for a room with strong sun exposure. As for care, wash at a low temperature or dry-clean as indicated on the fabric page, and iron on a low setting.
