Acoustic curtains: uses, fullness and care
Acoustic curtains absorb some sound and reduce reverberation in meeting rooms, open-plan offices, restaurants and multi-purpose rooms. The result depends on the area covered, the weight of the fabric and the fullness: the deeper the folds, the better the absorption. We recommend 2 times the track width, with a wave or pinch pleat heading, and a gap of a few centimetres between the fabric and the wall or glazing. A lining, acoustic or standard, makes the curtain more effective. These heavy fabrics are usually dry-cleaned or vacuumed regularly; low-temperature washing is still possible for some fabrics: check the fabric page.
